Hello, my name is Chloe Brown. I am so very proud to be representing the Cle Elum Roundup and my hometown, as the 2018 Cle Elum Roundup Queen. This year will be the 5th annual Cle Elum Roundup, held at the Washington State Horse Park – a truly amazing venue for our event.
I live in Cle Elum, on a small ranch with just two very special horses right now, Chance and Chief, and my parents Ryan and Francine Brown. My sister, Courtney is off at college – but only 30 short minutes away in Ellensburg. I am so appreciative for their support in my passion for horses and rodeo.
My love of horses and my desire to be a rodeo queen one day, started when I was 7 years old – that summer I got my first picture with a rodeo queen, an autograph and my first horse! That beautiful palomino taught me how to have a lot of patience and that horses definitely have their own personalities! I have been lucky enough to ride three other horses since then, and have learned so much thru the Kittitas County 4H Horse program.
In addition to traveling the state and promoting the Cle Elum Roundup, my goals for this year are to improve my barrel racing skills and to continue practicing with my rope for breakaway, in order to compete in High School Rodeo in the fall. I will also be joining FFA and getting my first steer to raise.
Last year, I traveled across the state, promoting my hometown rodeo, as the 2017 Jr. Miss Cle Elum Roundup Queen – I met so many incredible people throughout the year, that have become extended family. The friendships and memories made along the way, while promoting the western way of life, defined 2017 for me – I am Forever Thankful and Grateful for the opportunity to serve my community and my rodeo board for another year!
