Flag Carriers play an integral part in the Cle Elum Roundup. You allow us to honor and recognize the our generous sponsors by flying their flag high during Grand Entry and other times throughout the performance. There are also several parades throughout the summer that you are invited to participate in.
We will hold practices throughout the month of July at the Washington State Horse Park in Cle Elum, the home of the Cle Elum Roundup. With our final practice on the Friday of Roundup. PARKING: Free parking is provided for volunteers in the General Parking lot. You will need to walk or ride the shuttle to the Volunteer Check-in. HOSPITALITY: Afternoon/Evening- Volunteers will recieve a food voucher to use at a vendor as well as access to grab & go snacks at the Volunteer Hospitality Tent. Water will be delivered throughout your shift and bathroom breaks will be given too. CAMPING: RV Hookup (water/sewer/electricity) - These spaces are very limited and MUST be reserved. Located in tree wrapped perimeter of the parking lot (ABSOLUTLEY NO HORSES ALLOWED IN THE RV SPACES at ANYTIME. Not even to saddle. Click on the reservation button below to request a space. Island Hookup (water/electricity) - These spaces are very limited and MUST be reserved. Located aside the treed parking lot islands (check-in Friday - checkout Sunday). Water & electricity are available for these spaces however may require LONG hose &/or electrical cord depending on space. Sewer dump is located near park exit. (OK to trailer tie during saddling as space permits however must clean all poop up around your area. NO OVERNIGHT TRAILER TIE). Click on the reservation button below to request a space. Dry Camping - Is very limited. Available free of charge first come first serve basis. No reservation is needed however please understand that you are parking in the contestant parking area and that space is limited. Generators are OK during non-quiet hours (Quiet hours are 11:30 PM to 6:30 AM). No OVERNIGHT trailer tie or penning of horses anywhere in the Horse Park. You must use on-site stalls which are available (you MUST clean before you leave). HOTELS: There are many hotels and motels in Cle Elum. We do encourage you to use the TimberLodge and be sure to tell them you are here for the Cle Elum Roundup. They sell out quick. Regardless of where you make your reservation please let them know that you are with the Cle Elum Roundup. STALLS: One stall is provided for each Flag Carrier and Visiting Royalty (the directors will take your reservations). You will need to provide your own shavings and stalls MUST be cleaned prior to departure or you will be assessed a $50 fine. If additional stalls are needed then you must reserve/pay for those. Stall reservation will begin in July. Reminder NO OVERNIGHT TRAILER TIE or SELF-PENNING is allowed at the Horse Park. |
